I use a vacuum food sealer a number of times a week. They are great for expelling all of the air and sealing an item before freezing. It depends what the food is and how quickly it was frozen, but food sealed in this way can last for up to 2 years in the freezer.

The vacuum food sealer came with 10 starter bags. After a look around I located some replacement bags but also noticed some rolls. I decided on the rolls as a number of the bags I cut down because they were a little too large for some of the products I was sealing.

The rolls are supplied in 2x 6 metre lengths and as soon as I removed them from there bag I was greeted by a sticker that stopped the rolls unwinding. This sticker was so sticky that I could not remove it. This resulted in me having to cut off the first portion of the roll and throw it away. By doing this I then discovered another annoying problem, trying to cut the rolls. I tried a trimmer and a number of scissors but none of these would cut through the plastic without hacking them into an eventual mess. Even after I did manage to cut a jagged line from one side to the other, I was soon to find another issue. The plastic film for these bags is very thin and so the non embossed side of the roll keeps curling up. This makes it difficult and fiddly to get it into the vacuum food sealer and get a good seal. If you get a kink, you do not always get a good seal and so the exercise is pointless.

To conclude, a task that needs to be quick and convenient has now become very slow, a major chore and a waste of time. These rolls of bags are getting returned.
