A huge waste of time

Microscope

I have been looking at this type of product for some time. My youngest loves looking for things in the garden and in particular, he loves his bugs! I thought this would be an ideal product for him to not only see the teeny tiny world out there, but to also video and take pictures of it. I loved my microscope when I was his age and now technology has moved on. Today he will have the ability to capture the image or video to keep.

I setup the Digital Microscope on my desk and plugged it into my computer. The product is effectively a webcam with a macro lens and so I quickly had a picture up on my monitor. It was detailed on the front of the package that it contained a CD with some software. This was not the case and with no manual I had to muddle by.

I have used this product for some time in an attempt to gain some sort of usable result. It is possible to obtain a greatly magnified image however, this is only achievable a few millimetres from the end of the lens. It is not possible to place a sample under the unit, say about a centimetre below, and focus the object. I am very disappointed and unfortunately I will not be able to give this to him.

I received this product at a reduced rate for an honest and unbiased review which I have given after using this product. This fact has not influenced my review in any way.
